Annual Leave in Spain

Spanish workers are entitled to a minimum of 30 calendar days (approximately 22 working days) of paid annual leave per year. This is established in the Workers' Statute (Estatuto de los Trabajadores).

Taking Your Leave

At least two weeks must be taken consecutively. The remaining leave can be split throughout the year. Leave must be taken within the calendar year or agreed carryover period.

Public Holidays

Spain has 14 public holidays: 9 national holidays and up to 5 regional/local holidays. These are in addition to annual leave.

Vacation Pay

You receive your normal salary during vacation. Some collective agreements provide additional vacation pay or bonuses.
